A Repeat Performance in OMA
Two of Diane's paintings were selected for the Oceanside Museum of Art's Regional 4 show. It was the third straight time that Diane's work was selected for this major regional exhibition. 164 artists submitted 490 slides to the jury. 41 works were selected representing the work of 31 artists. Diane was fortunate to have two pieces selected: Perro Muerto - Zacatecas (right) and Empty Bowls (below). "I am excited to again be represented alongside my fellow distinguished San Diego area artists", said Diane. "2005 has been a successful year for me both in terms of sales and exhibitions. I am gratified that my work continues to be appreciated. " The Perro Muerto painting is the first of new series of paintings depicting dead dogs in Mexico. Says Diane: "During extensive driving trips through central Mexico with my family the past 2 years, I have been struck by the large number of dead dogs along the roadsides. It never seemed morbid, or even particularly sad to witness these dead animals, so I have tried to portray them as closely to my feelings at the time that I first saw them." |
